Here's an update of changes and improvements for 2010.
Membership Program
The NCRC Membership fee of $40/year will provide some new services for 2010. Any driver is welcome to choose either to be a member or not. Members have the additional following benefits:
Event Pricing
All members save $10 per day off the event price. The NCRC Member price is what we advertise as the event cost.
Annual Tech
Members are also offered the ability to perform an annual tech on their cars. For $20 per year, a driver may complete an annual on-line tech form and register it with NCRC for the year. Those drivers will receive tech stickers in their event packets for each event, and do not need to go through the tech line at the track.
Reserved Parking
NCRC Members are also offered a parking option (on a first-come first-serve basis) at Thunderhill for reserved parking for every event. For $5 per track day, drivers will have reserved parking under the awning at Thunderhill events.
Instructor Volunteers
Members have the opportunity to volunteer to instruct during our Driving School, and will receive an NCRC Instructor shirt and a $50 discount off their entry fee if we use their services.
Race and Time Trial Entry
Starting in 2010, ARC racers are not allowed to enter time trials unless they are driving in the Open Track groups. Lap times from ARC practice, qualifying, and race sessions will not be entered in the time trial scores.
Late Fee
In order to make our events even more affordable, we've removed our late fee.
Cancelation Policy
Our cancelation policy for 2010 events is as follows:
From the time we receive your event payment until 7 days before the start of the event (when the gates open), a cancelation will cost you a $49 administration fee and the remainder of the event fee will be refunded. If you cancel within 7 days (168 hours) of the event, you will not receive any refund, and no credits are given. NCRC reserves the right to cancel an event due to other events beyond our control (driver cancelations, weather, safety issues, track related issues).
On weekend events, the cancelation deadline is the preceding Saturday at 6:30am, regardless of which day(s) you registered for.
Up to 72 hours before the event, your event fee is transferable to another driver, so if you do need to cancel, and have a friend that would like to take your spot (assuming we have room in his run-group), then you may transfer your registration fee to him, and a $15 administrative fee will be charged. Please let us know of this change before the event.
Rule Changes
Black Flags
During the course of all events, black flags will be counted. If a driver receives two black flags in a day, depending on the circumstances and the driver's past history with us he may be liable for a penalty, which could include warning, removal from the track for the day, or even suspension or expulsion from the club. Driving School drivers are exempt from this rule, as it is expected they will make mistakes on their first track day.
Towing
Towing is an unfortunate fact of life on the track, and costs everyone time. We do not charge drivers for towing, though we'll charge $50 to tow in a car that has run out of gas. Cars towed for mechanical reasons will not be allowed back on track until they have shown us that they have fixed the problem. Cars towed twice in one day, for any reason, are liable for exclusion from the remainder of the day unless they can demonstrate that there was some extraordinary circumstance involved.
