We often get asked what it costs to put on a track event. Well, here's the answer - it's not cheap! Event costs vary by location, by time of year, by type of activity being run (driver's education vs. racing, for example), and by the amenities offered, but here is some information to give you a general idea. NCRC tries to make choices that suit the majority of our members wherever possible, but we never back away from safety.
| Track | $4000-7000/day |
| Track workers (safety, flag, control, etc) | $1000-2400/day |
| Track management workers (supervisor, security, sound, etc) | $300-500/day |
| Ambulance | $800-1000/day |
| Tow | $250-400 if used |
| Fire | $300-800 |
| Building | $0-400 |
| Bathrooms (you thought this was free?) | $0-200 |
| PA | $250-400/day |
| Insurance | $1300-1500/day |
| Food | $0-1000/day |
| Miscellaneous Costs (timing, tech, mailings, etc) | $300-500/day |
| Total | $8500-16,100/day - average $12,300 per day |
Other than the food, these are fixed costs, whether one or a hundred cars are on the track. This tally doesn't include fixed equipment costs such as supplies, timing and radios.
So if you're concerned about pricing, there are your numbers. Look at the clubs, what they offer, how much track time you get for your money, how many corner/safety workers they have, whether they have ambulance, tow and fire service available, and we think you'll find NCRC is about the most cost-effective club out there for what you get.
